Position Details & Responsibilities

Sellers Equipment has some great opportunities for the right person. We need construction machinery salesmen for our Southwest Kansas territory . This territory has proven track record, our previous salesmen have prospered. Successful candidates will have to relocate if needed, so they will live in the territory.

Our 66-year-old company has excellent benefits including 401(k), profit sharing, medical insurance, dental, paid vacations, car allowance, factory training.

Experience with construction equipment is a plus but not essential.

This individual is required to work in conjunction with all members of the company and store and perform the following duties as instructed:

1. Assure customer satisfaction

• Know the customer’s expectations both today and the future.

• Utilize customer relationship management to improve the customer’s perception of dealership, people, products, and services.

• Adhere to the designated Sales Process including completion of all required documentation, etc.

• Work together with the entire dealership team to ensure all of our customers are satisfied.

• Accept responsibility as final source of non-sales departments’ problems as they can effect total customer relations. This includes within the store or company as a whole.

2. Sell the entire new and used product lines currently offered by the dealership at a minimum:

3. Maintain accurate, current product, industry and selling skills knowledge on an on-going basis for all related equipment and company procedures.

• Attend all sales meetings unless specifically excused.

• Receive, study and file for easy reference all sales and product material.

• Attend all assigned or pertinent sales or product schools and help your team-mates learn what you have experienced.

4. Organize and manage his or her own time and territory to ensure the highest possible return to the company and its customers.

• Report all competitive activity.

• Identify all new accounts and add them to CRM for future action call , mail, telemarketing, etc.

• Leads are followed up quickly (within 24 hours) and reporting back to Sales Manager or Store Manager.

5. Understand functional product/service and company knowledge.

• Be proactive to uncover signs and symptoms that indicate the prospect has problems we can solve with our product/service/company features

• Develops and maintains a list of Features,
Advantages and Benefits for the company and for each of the products and services sold as directed by your Sales Manager.

• Daily update yourself on changes to manufactures’ terms, discounts and special programs, sales, deliveries, valuations and new equipment arrival.

6. Obtain and retain knowledge of the competition and their products.

• Maintains a list of competitive activity and competitive products.

• Report all competitive sales.

7. Communicate with all levels of the company to ensure that all service to our customers is taken care of and no profit opportunity is lost because of a lack of communication.

• All communication with customers and co-workers is conducted respectfully and professionally following the “golden rule” which is, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

8. Develop an understanding of the equipment industry.

• Actively participates in industry specific trade organizations

• Subscribes to and reads sales and marketing magazines.

• Reads at least one book on sales or marketing every quarter.

• Works closely with Sales Manager or Store Manager to understand and develop the links to other clients and industries.

9. Maintains an active list of prospects by market covered.

10. Conduct pre-call planning activities.

• Plans and sets the objectives of the contact.

• Organizes and reviews prospect information frequently.

11. Follow all training assigned as directed.

• All training offered is followed and completed as assigned.

12. Follow all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.

13. Maintain a high level of professional image.

14. Computer literate.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of sales, rental, parts and service of all products and equipment. Promotes, oversees, advises and makes recommendations to the General Manager with respect to the duties outlined, to the best interest of the Store Operations whenever and wherever the activities of the branch and the company are involved.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Insures that all policies, programs and authorized plans are carried out by the store personnel, relating to administration, accounting, sales, profit margins, inventory, customer coverage with Customer Satisfaction as an end result. Enforces and abides by all Company Business Policies are being met, see manual.

• Reviews operations of all departments on a daily basis. Oversees and directs all departments based upon the Company's business plan or the direction and approval of the General Manager.

• Maintains a cooperative atmosphere between Sales, Rental, Service, Parts and Accounting personnel. Maintains Company Policies as defined in the Company's Employee Manual, relative to philosophy, compensation benefits and employee conduct, etc.

• Fully comprehends and supports the Business and Marketing Plan. Attends and is an active part of all Management Board Meetings. Communicates, listens and shares ideas for growth.

• Assist in developing annual objectives for the branch, including sales, service, rental and parts goals for each department and expense budgets for the branch.

• Promotes and works with all Sales Representatives regarding their duties and responsibilities. Communicates trade in information as directed by the General Sales Or Used Equipment Manager. Constantly monitors inventory control and submits reports promptly. Insures that all rental sales are paid in cash or credit worthy for charge privileges.

• Monthly or quarterly evaluates performance by department and expenses against planned goals. Meets with employees on a semi-annual basis or when requested to review their performance and growth, offers suggestions and direction. Reports information to the General Manager. Approves overtime request through the Department Managers, recommends salary increases, correction action, termination and additional manpower.

• Insures that all information by upper management is communicated and implemented to the designated managers and / or personnel. Meets with mid-managers on a monthly basis. Maintains and monitors that all records and reports are completed and timely, including Managers and employees.

• Constantly enforces a safe working environment, insures that Safety Inspections are being conducted. Maintains and insures good housekeeping and cleanliness at all times.

• Constantly strives to gain knowledge in the industry, conducts a minimum or 24 hours of self training on a yearly basis. Attends manufacturer and independent training seminars regarding any management or marketing focus, that is deemed necessary.

• Recommends changes to improve store operations, sales revenue and profit. Cooperates with manufacturers' representatives, maintains and sell the Company Image, conducts and attends meetings when requested and performs other duties as assigned by the General Manager or the respective Operation Manager.

General Parts Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for distribution of parts to customers and service shop.

• Responsible for pricing to maintain profit goals.

• Use social and technical skills to solve issues that involve department and company.

• Constantly review and adjust inventory to balance between customer service level and inventory turn on invested dollar.

• Monitor, review, and ensure obsolete parts are returned per vendor's policies.

• Place vendor stock orders on a weekly basis. This is always done after 5pm as running these orders during work hours severely slows the entire system for everybody.

• Constantly seeking new sources for parts to lower costs to this dealership.

• Establish parts selling prices to maintain profit.

• Responsible to ensure all parts warranty claims are filed in a timely manner.

• Seek out new markets for parts sales.

• Responsible for being involved directly with customer disputes after branch parts manager cannot settle. Ensure company is portrayed as positive and caring.

• Manage schedule of cyclical inventory at each branch to monitor and measure results.

• Reads all parts bulletins from vendors and ensure all branch managers are aware of updates and/or changes.

• Ensure back orders are expedited.

• Measure and monitor "turn around" time from order to invoicing to have the best cash flow.

• Responsible to provide technical assistance to parts departments and customers.

• Assists in locating used parts when new parts are no longer available.

• Reviews and orders new stock for new model equipment.

• Reviews and adjusts for older units that are in need of improved parts service levels.

• Completes all requirements to ensure company goals are met. Communicates with service, sales, accounting & trucking to ensure all is done smoothly and profitable.

• Reviews salaries for department personnel and recommends changes to president.

• Reviews department policies and make recommendations to president.

General Service Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all service issues for 5 branch service departments. This includes customer satisfaction with the company, profitability, vendor satisfaction, warranty filing and return.

• Develop and maintain relationships with all vendor representatives.

• Develop and implement safety and security policies.

• Ensure all adhere to safety and security policies.

• Ensure warranty claims are filed timely and thoroughly.

• Be involved directly in claim denials and attempt to negotiate in our favor.

• Train personnel (sales, parts, service) on warranty policies for each vendor. Work closely with sales management when a policy issue comes up. Attempt to negotiate with vendor and customer.

• Determine technical training needs, schedule and execute training schools.

• Determine tooling needs and make plans for acquisition.

• Determine service vehicle needs and acquisition schedule.

• Determine service tech manpower and assist in the hiring process.

• Controls cost of each department to maximize profits.

• Reads all technical bulletins and ensures all branches are aware of technical changes and upgrades.

• Be directly involved in solving difficult technical issues.

• Communicates all issues direct to the president.

• Involved in re-design work when vendor does not have a solution for a customer related performance issue.

• Involved in customer disputes after branch attempts fail.

• Involved in special projects as requested.
