Position Details & Responsibilities
Sellers Equipment has some great opportunities for the right person. We need construction machinery salesmen for our Southwest Kansas territory . This territory has proven track record, our previous salesmen have prospered. Successful candidates will have to relocate if needed, so they will live in the territory.
Our 66-year-old company has excellent benefits including 401(k), profit sharing, medical insurance, dental, paid vacations, car allowance, factory training.
Experience with construction equipment is a plus but not essential.
This individual is required to work in conjunction with all members of the company and store and perform the following duties as instructed:
1. Assure customer satisfaction
• Know the customer’s expectations both today and the future.
• Utilize customer relationship management to improve the customer’s perception of dealership, people, products, and services.
• Adhere to the designated Sales Process including completion of all required documentation, etc.
• Work together with the entire dealership team to ensure all of our customers are satisfied.
• Accept responsibility as final source of non-sales departments’ problems as they can effect total customer relations. This includes within the store or company as a whole.
2. Sell the entire new and used product lines currently offered by the dealership at a minimum:
3. Maintain accurate, current product, industry and selling skills knowledge on an on-going basis for all related equipment and company procedures.
• Attend all sales meetings unless specifically excused.
• Receive, study and file for easy reference all sales and product material.
• Attend all assigned or pertinent sales or product schools and help your team-mates learn what you have experienced.
4. Organize and manage his or her own time and territory to ensure the highest possible return to the company and its customers.
• Report all competitive activity.
• Identify all new accounts and add them to CRM for future action call , mail, telemarketing, etc.
• Leads are followed up quickly (within 24 hours) and reporting back to Sales Manager or Store Manager.
5. Understand functional product/service and company knowledge.
• Be proactive to uncover signs and symptoms that indicate the prospect has problems we can solve with our product/service/company features
• Develops and maintains a list of Features,
Advantages and Benefits for the company and for each of the products and services sold as directed by your Sales Manager.
• Daily update yourself on changes to manufactures’ terms, discounts and special programs, sales, deliveries, valuations and new equipment arrival.
6. Obtain and retain knowledge of the competition and their products.
• Maintains a list of competitive activity and competitive products.
• Report all competitive sales.
7. Communicate with all levels of the company to ensure that all service to our customers is taken care of and no profit opportunity is lost because of a lack of communication.
• All communication with customers and co-workers is conducted respectfully and professionally following the “golden rule” which is, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
8. Develop an understanding of the equipment industry.
• Actively participates in industry specific trade organizations
• Subscribes to and reads sales and marketing magazines.
• Reads at least one book on sales or marketing every quarter.
• Works closely with Sales Manager or Store Manager to understand and develop the links to other clients and industries.
9. Maintains an active list of prospects by market covered.
10. Conduct pre-call planning activities.
• Plans and sets the objectives of the contact.
• Organizes and reviews prospect information frequently.
11. Follow all training assigned as directed.
• All training offered is followed and completed as assigned.
12. Follow all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
13. Maintain a high level of professional image.
14. Computer literate.
